The dumbest and one of the funnest (yeah I know that isn't a word but you know what I mean) films of the year. I still think they should've been completely loyal to the book.
Timur still isn't a good director IMO but there's enough eye candy here to disguise that as is the case in his NightWatch films.

And the week after it's The Dark Knight!!!!!!!!!!!

almostunbiased • Oct 13, 2008, 06:27pm •
It was definitely no oscar contender, but yeah it really was fun.

I'll be getting the Blu for sure.

Thought this was a great movie. Really entertaining, especially visually. I`m a fan of the Nightwatch flicks so getting this on Blu-Ray is a no brainer.

Might be a good rental for Blu-ray. Not a good enough movie for owning. Watching one time is good enough for this type.

Man, until TDK came out, this was my favorite movie of the summer. It was a lot of fun. I can't wait to see this on Blu-ray. It's gonna look amazing.

Everybody told me 2 go see Wanted. I told em all 2 kiss my ass til Dark Knight comes out. But, i'll probably pick it up. The Game Soundz like fun..

For me this was one of the bigger letdowns of the Summer, the opening and ending action sequences were about the only good things about this film in my eyes.

The disapointing aspects include:

You have an army of hitmen, all with the same superpower, BULLET BENDING (Well Whoopity Damn Do) couldn't they have given some of the hitmen other abilities.

The fact that these super hitmen obviously work for an organization that has a lot of clout as it pretty much has its own office building as seen at the beginning of the film, yet we get to watch abunch of guys work in a dumpy, rundown, fabric factory most of the movie.

Not a likable character in the film, everyone in this film could have died in the end and I would not have cared. The main characters the whiniest douche, and you really just wished someone had killed him in the end.

The main characters continuous initiations, where he continually gets his a$$ kicked, felt like it took up about 20 minutes of the movie, and made you hate the characters even more.

The twist (those who saw the movie probably saw it coming a mile away).

The main characters annoying narration in the film.

The other movie that was somewhat depressing for me was Hellboy 2, I liked this a lot more than Wanted mind you, but basically they took everything that was cool about the first movie, threw it out, brought in the extras from Pans Labyrinth, and turned Hellboy 2 into a romantic comedy.

almostunbiased • Oct 14, 2008, 04:43pm •
I'll agree about Hellboy 2, but not at all with your opinion of wanted.
Loved teh voice over.
Sure you knew what was going to happen, but who cares it was funny and fun.

Don't ever see Payback if you didn't like Wanted, because everyone in that movie is an ace too, but it is also very fun.

akobus • Oct 14, 2008, 09:00pm •
Actually I have seen Payback multiple times and love it, Porter was an awesome character (Mel Gibson killed in that role), Lucy Liu as a Dominatrix was hot as hell, the movie just kicked a$$ all around. And there were lots of likable characters Payback, Porter, Pearl, and heck the mobster with the "Alligator Bags" were really likable.

Wanted just really let me down personally.
