Well Maniacs, this looks right up our alley. Let’s take HG Wells’ “War of the Worlds” and mix it will World War One (also known as the Great War). Next, let us throw in some genre favorite actors, doing voice over work, and we have War of the Worlds Goliath. Check out the press release and trailer below. The film appears to be very solid in the animation department too.

SYNOPSIS: In a parallel universe, World War One is imminent as we follow the gripping story of human resistance fighters who march to battle against the second invasion of the Martians. In 1899, the Earth was attacked by ruthless invaders from the planet Mars. The Martians’ 80 ft tall, heat-ray spewing, Tripod battle machines laid waste to the planet, but the invaders ultimately fell prey to Earth’s tiny bacteria.  Fifteen years later, Man has rebuilt his shattered world, in large part by utilizing captured Martian technology.  Equipped with giant, steam-powered Tripod battle machines, the international rapid reaction force, is Mankind’s first line of defense against the return of the rapacious Martian invaders.  And return the Martians do. The rematch finds the multinational battle squad tripod “Goliath” on the front-lines of a vicious interplanetary offensive. This time the Martians are using even more advanced alien technology. In the crucible of combat, the young crew helming the mighty Goliath will be tested to the limits of their endurance and courage as they fight for Mankind’s very survival under the onslaught of an implacable enemy.

Wow, this does look good! I like all the steampunk.

This thing is like a Highlander TV show cast reunion. Wonder how that happened? Jim Byrnes does lots of animation voice work so if they were looking for voices maybe he recommended the whole damn cast.

Nice looking animation, but awful voice acting- but that's to be expected as the cast is mostly b-list live action actors.

Billy West was right.

I think it's more Dieselpunk rather than Steampunk but either way looks cool. I preordered it on Amazon.

I've been following this for a year or so now, glad to see they finally have a US release date.

I think this looks pretty entertaining... but I see it flopping big time.

American audiences just dont seem to go for this sort of animation unfortunately.... kinda like Tian A.E. was great but flopped.
