French comics creator Matz, also known as Alexis Nolent, has been on quite a roll scoring Hollywood deals lately. The latest word from the trades is that Warner Bros. has acquired the film rights to his three-book graphic novel series 'Du Plomb Dans la Tête', or 'Headshot' as it is known in English-language markets.
Created by Nolent and illustrator Colin Wilson, 'Headshot' was originally published in France by Casterman. It tells the story of an unlikely alliance between a cop and a hitman takes place after each watches his partner die. The new partners seek revenge and discover they have a shared enemy and much in common despite being on opposite sides of the law.
Variety reports that the film will be produced by Alexandra Milchan and 'Smallville' creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. Alessandro Camon ('The Messenger') is set to write the screenplay.
This is the third such deal for Nolent. He recently set up his series 'Cyclops' with Warner Bros and 'The Killers' with Paramount. Milchan is a producer on all three.
