Warner Bros. has shifted its adaptation of Where the Wild Things Are out of TBA status and placed it back to October 2009. The exact date is October 16, 2009 as to when the Spike Jonze fantasy will hit theaters. The big screen treatment of Maurice Sendak's children's book stars Catherine Keener, Benicio Del Toro, Forest Whitaker, Lauren Ambrose, Catherine O'Hara, Tom Noonan, Michael Berry and James Gandolfini. Jonze adapted the screenplay alongside co-writer Dave Eggers.

Plot Summary: "Where the Wild Things Are" follows the adventures of Max, a head-strong young boy who leaves home after having a fight with his mother -- only to find himself in a mysterious forest bordering a vast sea. Misunderstood and rebellious, Max sets sail to the land of the Wild Things, where mischief reigns.

The adventure film will use a unique process to bring the story to life, incorporating the most dynamic elements of voice performance, live-action puppetry and computer animation.

In other WB-related news, Warner Bros.' New Line Cinema has shifted Final Destination 4 back a week to August 21, 2009.

Finally. I've been waiting and calling for this forever. However I'm not too confident about the final product with all the studio meddling behind it. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Yeah, it's plenty of time for the studio to screw up the film by warm and fuzzy reshoots. Here's hoping they don't.

That picture scares the $#!+ out of me, imagine how scared 5 year olds are gonna be. I smell a studio ordered re-edit and possibly re-shoot coming.
