Warner Bros has been kind enough to send along clips to their next horror film, THE INVASION, which is about to hit theaters next weekend. The film is a update/remake of the horror classic, INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS, starring Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig, Jeremy Northam & Malin Akerman. The film hits theaters August 17, 2007.

Plot Summary: The mysterious crash of the space shuttle leads to the terrifying discovery that there is something alien within the wreckage. Those who come in contact with it are changing in ominous and inexplicable ways. Soon Washington, DC psychiatrist Carol Bennell (Nicole Kidman) and her friend, Dr. Ben Driscoll (Daniel Craig), learn the shocking truth about the growing extraterrestrial epidemic: it attacks its victims while they sleep, leaving them physically unchanged but strangely unfeeling and inhuman. As the infection spreads, more and more people are altered and it becomes impossible to know who can be trusted. Now Carol's only hope is to stay awake long enough to find her young son, who may hold the key to stopping the devastating invasion.

I wasn't interested but I read the Wachowskis directed some action scenes for this movie. Might check it out now when it hits dvd.

I'm not sure if this will bomb or not...but I'm going to see it!

I think it will do well...even against Balls Of Fury, the comedy...

I have a lot of respect for Warner Bros anyway....even if other studios give us the cold effing shaft..

The clips, and everything else I've seen about this movie, haven't done anything to make me excited to see this film. I'm sure I'll see it, because I like the cast, but I'm not expecting much.

Suprbad is the movie I can't wait to see this weekend, and i think it's going to be the weekend winner.

I'm not sure if I'll see this or not - definitely "on the fence" as to whether this one interests me. While I like the Wachowskis, the thought of bringing in anybody to "punch up" the action scenes doesn't instill confidence in the overall movie.

Jarrod, Balls of Fury isn't released for another two weeks (against Zombie's Halloween). You may be thinking of Superbad as this week's comedy release. I think Superbad will own the weekend with about a $25M opening, Invasion will do about half that amount, and The Last Legion will do about half of Invasion's box office.
