WATCHMEN 2 Still a Possibility

It goes without saying that if a film is a successful blockbuster in theaters around the world, studio executives will try their hardest at getting a sequel or prequel into production sometime later. Even if the story doesn't necessarily call for a sequel or prequel. Last year, we had hints that WB executives would be open to another Watchmen film after releasing the original into theaters and it seems that possibility is still open today.
Here's what leading star Patrick Wilson told MTV;
“It’s all been talked about,” laughed Wilson. “Financially, they like to do that. But all of us, [director] Zack [Snyder] included, all go, ‘How on Earth could you do a sequel or prequel?’”
This isn't the first Zack Snyder comic adaptation that could have a prequel made despite the story being wrapped up with no loose ends. Warner Bros. are also thinking of getting a prequel made for his treatment of Frank Miller's 300. Wilson chimed in on that as well.
“Even the guys from ‘300’ might have had a sequel,” said Wilson. “It’s the most ridiculous option. It’s sort of a financial way to protect the studio, and I would do the same thing.”'
Seems a bit crazy to be talking sequel or prequel when we don't know when Watchmen will hit theaters thanks to the 20th Century Fox copyright infringement lawsuit...
