Watts and Mortensen make PROMISES

Naomi Watts and Viggo Mortensen will star in the movie Eastern Promises for Focus Features.

Eastern Promises will feature Watts as Anna, a midwife at a London hospital who finds herself wrapped up in the criminal underworld as she tries to discover the identity of a dead 14-year old patient.

Mortensen will play the mysterious Nikolai, a man with ties throughout a notorious crime syndicate.

Shooting will begin in November after Watts wraps Funny Games

Strange title, but I like both principal actor and actress choices. Could be good and intense.

Yeah, I gotta agree with posts 1 and 2; the cast alone gets me in the theater for this one. Mortensen was fantastic in A History of Violence.

I remember when they first told us about this movie. I thought it sounded interesting and original, these actors will make it good.

Yeah I'll have to see this. I almost gave up on Mortensen until "A History of Violence" crossed my eyes. Naomi is just groovy.

HOV was an enjoyable film. I've like to see the continue the story and finish the graphic novel. Some really messed up stuff unfolded in that book.
