I hope that the powers that be remastered the Duke's masterpeice "The Quiet Man". The colours fade in an out and are not a vibrant as you'd think when watching a movie like that. Maybe it's my eyes, but I don't think so. Classic Duke quote: "I'm not goona hit you, the hell I'm not!!"

QUIET MAN is one of those titles that has always disappointed me on home video. On the laserdisc "deluxe" edition, I had to boost the brightness just to see what was going on. The film looked better cropped on TV in the 1970s than it does now. I'll try to learn more from Lionsgate, but I fear these are reissues of the Republic transfers. _BT

I have to agree, the special edition truely needs "special" treatment.
