Warner Bros seems to really like producer David Heyman for UK based storytelling classics. According to Variety, the WB studio has hired producer David Heyman (Harry Potter series) to direct another British childrens' classic, PADDINGTON BEAR, to the big sceen and yet again, it involves a train station central as a plot device. While Paddington isn't exactly adult genre news, a subject I usually focus upon, it does cover a children's story about a talking bear that a lot of us remember based on Michael Bond's series of books (published 1958-1979). The film will be live-action while the bear itself is CGI.
Heyman had this to say about the project..
"Paddington Bear is a universally loved character, and I have wanted to bring him to screen for some years. Michael Bond's 'Paddington' books have such wit, wonder and charm. Essentially, Paddington's story is that of an immigrant arriving in London and trying to find a home and a family. Above all, I love Paddington's unique style of comedy."
Plot Concept: Centers on Michael Bond's 11 books for young children about a talking bear who's adopted by a London family when they find him lost at Paddington Station.
