WB Takes a Dip with AQUAMAN

The WB Network has given the go-ahead for Miles Millar and Alfred Gough to produce a pilot for AQUAMAN.

The series is being envisioned as "a contemporary reinterpretation of the character who lives in the deep sea and enlists sharks and other oceanic creatures to help him in his crime-fighting endeavors."

Aquaman will be in his early twenties.

oh come on, I really liked the Smallville episode with Aquaman and I think Smallville is a great show, but they really don`t have to do this with every DC character. If they do, they should get the same guy who was in the Smallville episode.

Because there's so much crime to be fought under the sea. As Batman used to say to him, back at the Hall of Justice - "Make the sandwiches, Fishboy!"

I'd rather see a mini-series but I don't think that's WB's thing. :p

Aquaman has been a lame character since day 1. If they feel they have to do another smallville type show with a DC character, why not someone cool like the Green Lantern?

the guy who played aquaman on smallville was pretty much the worst actor this side of chuck norris. he made paul walker look like an oscar contender.

Something tells me that the WB probably did some focus groups on the Aquaman episode of Smallville, and Aquaman's upper body tested through the roof. That's probably the justification for greenlighting this series more than anything else.

They'll probably make this some tree hugging save the planet show. It could be good, it will be bad. Don't they realize the only reason why the episode got great ratings was because we got to see Lois in a bikini?

Actually, I've heard from Washington Post TV critic Tom Shales that the WB "teen" shows have a very high rating among gay males, a very desirable demographic for advertisers. This is why the writers so frequently come up with reasons for the hunky cast members to remove their shirts - it ain't for the fanboys!

snallygaster, the gay demo was over 2 years ago. Shales is 2 years behind

So the gay demographic just up and disappeared?
