The WB has ordered up a modern day take on Edgar Rice Burroughs' classic hero, TARZAN.
Warner Bros. Television will produce a SMALLVILLE-like pilot focusing on the literary apeman as a 17 year old. The pilot and potential series premise will see an injured Tarzan brought to live in New York by an aunt. After recovering, Tarzan "becomes the protector of the ultimate urban jungle."
This concept will be executed by producer Laura Ziskin with scribes Mike Werb and Michael Colleary.
