Talking about Namor?  Hugo is too old for Namor but he could be Atlantian bad guy or something.  Might as well make him a Vulcan too since we are talking about his looks.

SONYMANswallows 3/13/2010 9:28:26 AM

Hugo cannot be to old. There is no age range for Namor and the scenes in comics where he is trying to hook up with Sue Richards he looks 40-50.

A Vulcan really?

Unless all Vulcans are supposed to look like Nimoy than it is makeup. Kirstie Alley and Kim Cattrall do not look Vulcan and neither did Jolenne Baylock or the black guy from Voyager.

Maybe he can be Dr Reinhart in The Black Hole Remake

Hugo Weaving as the Red Skull..OK.  Considering movie script writers professed need to make everything as "realistic" as possible in Comic Boox based movies (rant on THAT bit following :D), figuring out how to do the Red Skull in a realistic setting aught to be entertaining at least.  This should be really fun to watch (as long as it's done correctly).

Reallistic setting ... check

Super powered people (heroes) in colorfull costumes ... check

Demi-god powered super villains also in colorfull custumes ... check

Realistic .. wait..what??  How excatly do yo get "Reality" from a comic book movie???

SONYMANswallows 3/13/2010 2:21:29 PM

Realistic is done by paying attention to detail. Compare makeup,

For example the Two Face make up in The Googly Eyed Knight looked dumb. It looked exactly like Two Face from the Batman Animated Series voiced by Richard Moll.

Superman The Motion Picture lloked incredibly real compared to Spider Pig, Tim Burton's Batman or Schumacher's Batman. These had the gothic look or or were air brushed.

Blade and Blade 2 and Xmen 1 & 2 had a real world look and the costumes were not yellow or any other type of Spandex. I would rather have black out fits than flashy spandex.

Dr.Fate and Hawkmen in Smallville looked reat. The Fantastic Four looked dumber than gay other than the Thing..

Red Skull should not look cheesy like Jig saw in Punisher Warzone

Answer to sad question regarding realism in comic book movies by non thinker with misguided ego

I'd tolerate Weaving as Red Skull provided they don't go with the plastic surgery route... No way would he be signed for more than 3 movies.  Yeah, he'd be a cool Namor, even better than Skull but he can't be Skull AND Namor as The Invaders without either Namor or Human Torch is pointless and he isn't Jeffery Combs who was the only actor I can think of to play two different characters, in completely different make-up,  in the same thing...

idk if this has been already mentioned, but I just saw on IMDB.com that jeremy renner might play Hawkeye in the Avengers movie. Anyone know if this is true??

fft5305 3/13/2010 8:44:50 PM

I think he said that there have been some talks about it, but nothing firm has been offered or set up.  There seems to be a lot of fan support for the idea. The story came out and then disappeared pretty quickly. I wonder if they're planning on dropping in a cameo, a la Nick Fury in Iron Man...

SONYMANswallows 3/14/2010 10:53:53 AM

Why can't he be Namor and Red Skull? This is not going to happen but the Red Skull makeup looks nothing like Namor.

And there are these tools thatuse camera angles and editing that can place actors in different scenes in ways they did not act originally.

And it was said Invaders will be in CA in some fashion that Hollywood or Disney may executive approve over.

Hawkeye was never confirmed officially for Thor.

Instead of Weaving, how about Frank Langela. He did a little flick in skull makeup a few years back and sounded great. You might remember it, Master of the Universe.

SONYMANswallows 3/14/2010 5:11:31 PM

I remember MASTERS  of The Universe. Not Master of The
Universse. And it was 23 years ago. But your right it was little.
