The Weinstein brothers have picked up the screen and stage right to Crane - Iron Pentalogy, the five novels behind CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON.

The brothers look to make a series of films based on the material, which will in effect by prequels and sequels to CROUCHING TIGER, the fourth novel in the series written by Wang Du Lu.

The Weinsteins are also interested in turning the material into a stage play.

I loved CT,HD. I knew it was a part a five part cycle, I just figured it was the last one.

Has anyone read these? IS there an English language version available?

This is really interesting news. I wonder if there is a central character in each novel, or are they loosely strung together with a minor character in one being a major character in another.

This sounds pretty damn cool. I'd love to see more from the world of CTHD, and a stage version sounds really interesting and unique. Can't wait to see what develops from this. I hope there's an English language version of these, would like to check them out.

CTHD was pretty good, I liked it. I would not mind seeing more movies from the series.

I don't think Brokeback Gay Mountain and the Hulk are going to escape Ang Lee anytime soon.

Great news. Hope they do a good job.

I haven't read these books, but I'd imagine they're probably tied together by the history of the "Green Destiny" sword in some way...

useless homophobic post clarkfquinones. Not even funny.

Anyway Crounching was a piece of art. This is grest news ONLY if the movies can capture 70% and more of the magic Crounching had. If not it will once again fall in the stupidity of Hollywood franchise shit.

Make the magic work in standalone movies that are only related by their world or characters.
