Never read the book but it does look interesting.

It's funny cause recently just had a huge argument with the wife about space issues we are starting to have cause by the large section of comics I have...adding anything new to my already not-so-small list of comics every week is becoming a huge issue and let's face it, we all know what this means...argue with the wife or, silence...no real choice.

Maybe if there is a cheap trade for this I will look out for it but, sometimes our female partners outweight the quality of a possibly good book.

Great read Chad.

I don't know if your wife likes comics, jedibanner, but maybe you could win her over by giving her the book to read for herself?  Unlike so many comics out there, this one definitely falls into the category of "female friendly".

And while you're at it, pick her up the first Echo trade... and maybe some flowers.  ;)

Hehehe...well, I did the mystake of the flowers and now, it's expected every WEEK!!!

Kidding aside, she likes Walking Dead, Preacher, Y the Last Men...so maybe will try to offer it to her, good idea.

Us Men have to stick together, any ideas is always welcomed.

tell her its america made and buying comics help the economy!

jedibanner 4/20/2011 8:07:42 AM

yeah...me being Canadian might not apply 100% but thanks.

ChadDerdowski 4/20/2011 8:10:38 AM

Dude... if she likes Preacher, Walking Dead and Y: the Last Man, then Sweet Tooth is right up her alley!

And better yet - Jeff Lemire is also Canadian, so tell her she's supporting fine Canadian creators!  It's a win-win situation, baby!

jedibanner 4/20/2011 8:30:30 AM

Ahhh, see, didn't know this...that's it, she's getting it!!!

shac2846 4/20/2011 9:13:53 AM

Dude you haven't read any of Lemire's other stuff. Get on it man! Actually I have stalled on Sweet Tooth, not because I think it's bad, but because I get trades mostly these days and the trades for Sweet Tooth are so small, I'm sure, or at least I hope, that soon enough they will publish the book in a bigger trade with more bang for the buck. But yeah, everything I've heard is excellent, to me it sounds even more interesting than his other stuff.

I have trimmed down virtually everyone of my single issues and now get mostly trades so has anybody read Lemire's superboy run yet? Any good?

Also while we're on the topic of indie sci-fi comics, I am getting ready to buy the first volume of the Elephantmen series off of amazon, anybody know if it's good or not. I've read tons of great reviews including the reviews on amazon. Just curious if anybody else has read it.
