Director Wes Craven is coming back to the horror genre with a new spec called 25/8. Variety says this will be the first horror screenplay he's written since his 1994 effort New Nightmare. Iya Labunka plans to produce for Rogue Pictures and production will officially begin in April.

"It's more a thriller than slasher film, and revolves around a young kid with a very dark past involving his family and his father," Craven told the trade.

Plot Concept: Craven said the film unveils a signature villain, a serial killer who turns up 15 years after his purported death, to kill the seven children born on that fateful night.

Ehhh,,,,could go either way, but seeing how it is Wes Craven, I will give him the benifet of the doubt.

Hmmm. Plot sounds vaguely familiar. Here's hoping! I like Craven's work but he does miss the mark on occasion.
