WEST WING creators tune in to THE FARNSWORTH INVENTION

The creators of THE WEST WING are working on a new film project about one of the forgotten inventors of the twentieth century, Philo Farnsworth. THE FARNSWORTH INVENTION is a drama set up at New Line Cinema about the discovery of television technology by 22-year-old Farnsworth in the 1920s and his subsequent battle with industrialist David Sarnoff over the technology and Russian scientist Vladimir Zworykin over who discovered TV first. The movie will be written by Aaron Sorkin and directed by Thomas Schlamme, while both gentlemen will also share producing duties on the film.
