@monketfoot - I agree, its too late for a JLA movie, it would just look like a ripoff now. At least for a while. They missed the bus. They need to concentrate on GOOD solo movies for now.

and MAN i totally forgot about Steel. thats up there with Catwoman... Warner needs to clean house, what a disgraceful list of movies

Wiseguy 5/8/2012 3:27:18 PM

I agree Tvii, good solo films and/or a World's Finest.

I think the JLA members are more flawed that some are saying. I mean sure back in the 80's a or earlier a lot of the DC characters were too pristine but they've evolved over the years.

DC's characters just always seemed more fantastical in general. I don't know why, maybe because of their mega cities ala Metropolis and Gotham which don't actually exist or some of them seem to have almost infinite powers which in the end always makes them a bit dull IMO and I say that as a fan.

Wiseguy 5/8/2012 4:16:54 PM

Btw collider did have a piece where Feige said that they do have an option to bring Whedon back. That helps ease any worries a little bit.

Could not agree with you more, Wiseguy. Marvel needs to give Joss what he wants. He's soon going to be the One Billion Dollar Man, as Avengers looks to clear that globally.

Okay, so The Incredible Hulk (Norton's) is on the top rentals for Amazon.  I have to say, I think what they got wrong in both films is obvious.  Instead of the Avengers Hulk...they gave us TV Hulk.  The dentist chair sucked in the TV series and it sucked in the movies.  He should have been creating a bomb...great metaphor...and a good reason for redemption.  Anyway, they let the Hulk be fun.  And, now that that has happened...I hope we see them ditch the TV idea and move ahead with a new Hulk film.  Bring on the Leader.

If any character where to leave or turn it would be either the Hulk or Thor.  One is unpredictable and the other has elseworlds to cover.  You could replace them with any number of muscle/brain characters.  And, the number one fanboy fave seems to be Hank Pym.  I agree...skip Ant Man and move right into Yellowjacket, or Goliath.  If you want an Ant Man film...then let it not involve Pym.  Or, at least, don't make it a comedy.  See The Incredible Shrinking Man for research.

Joss Whedon knows how to balance an ensemble cast of powerful characters. Has proved that many times and I'm glad he's finally getting this massive praise and spotlight on him.

I don't know if I've ever openly disagreed with Hanso, but I must now disagree that Favreau could have done what Whedon did.  Favreau is great, no doubt, but last summer he had a golden opportunity with an all-star cast in Cowboys & Aliens and I felt it was a let down.  Probably his worst film yet, and yeah that includes the quiet but brilliant Zathura!

Either way, I'll agree with everyone else that Marvel needs to give Joss a blank cheque and lock it down already!!  In a recent interview he was asked what advice he'd give DC for a JLA film and his response was............."Call me"..........

First Let me say The Movie Frack'n Rocked....Only Complaint,  Caps Out fit. Two bright a Blue and the head gear looked goofy. But Now on to my point...

I find it strange that with alot of comic fans/die hards here havent mentioned that this is the end of the golden age of marvel movies.(produced by marvel) If you look at theses movies with a "comic " eye, it really feels like the end. Now were moving into the silver age. Witch will begin with Iron Man 3 next year, witch has a new director/writer, witch will probablly mean a different tone and feel. Same with Thor.

The Golden Age: Begins with Iron Man, Incredibale Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America and Ends at The Avengers.

The Silver Age: Begins with Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Cap 2, Un Named marvel movie 2014....The Avengers 2?

I personally think the silver age will end with Avengers 2, MOst of the main cast dont have deals past that I due believe so that means recasting. You could make an argument that the golden age ends when they start recasting... Just my thought.

Again the Movie Rocked and Hulk Stole the Show.

Maybe DC will have better luck with the Lobo movie.  Hopefully Joss can leverage a FireFly movies out of this.

InnerSanctum 5/8/2012 6:41:19 PM

As much as I enjoyed Firefly...I think they gave us the ending we needed.  It is like asking for a LOST film.  I'd rahter see Whedon tackle other projects.
