I love Kevin Smith, but I don't think he could pull off a Justice League movie.

I don't know wtf some of you are smoking but Kevin Smith is balls and I say that as a fan of the guy.  He can't cut it for JL and I'm certain there are a lot of people that know more sh.it about DC comics than he does.  Maybe give him a shot a rewritting the script, that's how far I'd go with him.

I never said Kevin Smith would make a good director for JLA.  I think he's the guy to put in charge of DC Entertainment's movie arm, as was once offered to him long ago.  He's got the movie and comics knowhow to get things done right, like making sure that the script doesn't use the source material as toilet paper (Catwoman, LXG, Jonah Hex, etc.), but still work as a feature length movie.

I just couldn't get into Dollhouse.  Angel was the same.  Buffy "hit or miss".  Enjoyed Firefly.  Guess I'm not a Whedon die hard nerd.  But, he did a fine job with the Avengers movie.  I think he does well when he doesn't have to go too "deep" with his characters.

Kevin Smith backed out of Green Hornet because he said he didn't have the confidence or skills to do it.  Do you really think he could handle JLA?  I think he should stick to Jay and Silent Bob talking about jerking off.

I was going to say the same thing sanctum. Smith has said publicly he is extremely lazy and really doesn't have good directing skills (that's why most of his movies have very few camera angles). He backed out of green hornet and adapted his script into comic form. But having said that his comic writing work is great and he does understand the characters. If he were one, not the only, on a DC/WB braintrust that would be cool. I'm sure Smith would at least develop a game plan.

No way Wyldstaar.  If you put Kevin Smith as the guy in charge WB would crumble to the ground because he would crumble under the pressure.  He'd maaaaybe be good as a writer, but that's as far as I'd use him.  You'd need someone very similar to Whedon.  Maybe even a Peter Jackson type of director who can do an ensemble movie with lots of visual effects.

Higgy, for the past couple years Kevin Smith has filmed, edited and released his first true indie film since Clerks, launched a podcast network, launched a YouTube channel, gone on international tours doing speaking appearances, written a book, gone on a book tour, done a reality TV show, done a Hulu TV show, and continues to work on his latest movie script.  He knows all about pressure as his life stands already.

Joss Whedon is a great man.

I still don't think he's got it in him.  He doesn't even think he's got it in him so...yeah.
