Curse of Chucky Update (Article) - 6/25/2012 7:29:33 PM

Betenoire, you hit the nail on the head.  Nobody, except the fans of the first that are our age, will get the 'in' joke or why big dolls are creepy.

That this is direct-to-dvd is what scares me.  No Chucky, no giant butcher blade, this.  It means no thought went into it and they just want a sequel to make money.  I may rent it, I may not, but at least 'Bride' and 'Seed' we're good attempts.  I thought they were witty, funny, and gory ('Bride' being the best).  This just screams, 'I don't care'.

Prove me wrong, oh Hollywood creators.

Metal Men Movie in the works (Article) - 6/24/2012 1:19:09 AM

Jeez, such harsh criticism.  With Sonnenfeld's eccentric sense of humor and direction, I think this could rate up there with 'Addams Family' anyway...

Official BRANDED poster (Article) - 6/15/2012 5:13:46 AM

I had the same thought as everyone else regarding 'They Live'.  Loved that movie.  Also reminds me a bit of 'The Mist'.  Looks unique enough where I'd catch it in the theater.  With a movie like this, could Stephen King's 'Insomniac' be made soon?

Mania Review: Prometheus (Article) - 6/11/2012 11:15:05 PM

I went to see it and, at first, didn't like it because a few things seemed to break continuity with 'Alien'.  But when I checked the planet and learned the one in 'Alien' and 'Aliens' is LV-426, not LV-223, I changed my opinion.  I guess my OCD gets me rankled sometimes, lol.

I think it's a great setup.  It shows the Aliens evolved, they weren't originally how they appear as in 'Alien'.  Being I understand the ending better now and there's room to fill in the blanks and make a true prequel trilogy (hopefully), I agree with this rating.  Not too mention anything done by Ridley is, hands down, AWESOME!  I'm interested in seeing where the series goes next...

Can Ridley do just as well with a 'Blade Runner' sequel/prequel?

Iron Patriot in Iron Man 3 (Article) - 5/31/2012 9:07:45 PM

You're right, Wiseguy, we do think alike.  That's why I like to read these posts.  You, hanso, karas1, MrJawBreakingEquilibruim, and... dammit I forgot the guy that uses that Hulk pic as his avatar.  Anyway, you guys have it on the ball.

Iron Patriot in Iron Man 3 (Article) - 5/31/2012 4:24:49 AM

Either that or the government is taking their dislike of Stark one step further and cannibilizing his tech to create Iron Patriot, an Iron Man who THEY control...  We'll see.

Iron Patriot in Iron Man 3 (Article) - 5/31/2012 4:21:51 AM

Mikemc2, after 'Civil War' and 'Secret Invasion', Norman Osborne had managed to pull a Lex Luthor.  Osborne reformed SHEILD as HAMMER and formed his own 'Dark Avengers'.  There was the Iron Patriot (Iron Man), Wolverine's son Daken, Moonstone (disguised as Ms. Marvel), Mac Gargan's Venom (given a serum to shrink down to Spiderman size), Sentry, and Bullseye (as Hawkeye).  Basically the Thunderbolts posing as heroes...

Since Osborne is a Spidey villain and currently under Sony property (and most likely the secret villain behind the Lizard from what I've seen in the 'Amazing Spiderman' trailer), Iron Patriot can't be him for legal reasons.  So, I imagine since Mandarin is some terrorist who passes out rings to his croney's to show there in his group (from 'Iron Man' the movie), instead of the Chinese super villain who collects ten magic rings,  Iron Patriot is probable his plan as a replacement for Stark.  That's my opinion, though...

Wikipedia Iron Patriot and Dark Avengers.  It'll give you the whole plot.

Star Trek the Motion Picture Complete Soundtrack (Article) - 5/20/2012 9:30:29 PM

More of these, with other movies, need to be made.  People forget after twenty or so years the blood, sweat and tears that went into a movie soundtrack.  You know, before you just got a few bands to record music and slapped 'soundtrack' on it?  Some movies today still have a memorable classical soundtrack, but honestly, can you hum the 'Incredible Hulk' or 'Transformers' movie theme like 'Star Wars' or 'Indiana Jones'?  Point is, music is important to a movie.  It's half or more of the emotional involvement.  A lot of people don't get that and we need to make sure they do...

Mania Review: Dark Shadows (Article) - 5/11/2012 12:07:48 AM

Geez, I thought it wouldn't be great judging by the previews, but a 'D'?  Guess I'll avoid this one like the plague...

Abrams Revolution to NBC (Article) - 5/10/2012 5:08:38 AM

I immediately thought of 'Jericho'.  I think if this had an actor or actress I was really into I might be more interested.  I'll see what critics think first...
