WHITEOUT starring Kate Beckinsale

Remember that filmed adaptation of Greg Rucka and Steve Lieber's excellent graphic novel 'Whiteout'? Sure you do. It's got Kate Beckinsale in it. It's directed by Dominc Sena. They've been promoting it at the previous two Comic-Cons in San Diego. They'll probably promote it at this year's event too. They filmed it in 2007 and it's been...on ice...since then.
Well, current projections now have the movie coming out on September 11 of this year and Warner Bros have finally released a trailer for the film which has surfaced on TrailerSpy.com. The opening leg of the clip evokes those thrillers of the 1970s and 1980s where a monotone voice would explain the complexities of the story in 120 seconds time. After Mr. Voice Over drops some knowledge about Antarctica on you, things start to pick up as the core plot of the movie is revealed: A murder at one of the harshest human-inhabited locations in the world. The trailer is, strangely, non-white.
Beckinsale stars as U.S. Marshal Carrie Stetko assigned to the international station in Antarctic who is forced to sort through a murder during the region's deadly winter season. Gabriel Macht also stars.
Thanks to Antonello Blueberry for the submission.
Roll Clip!
Looks interesting enough. Of course I never read the comic so it's all new to me. The only thing is that when films keep getting pushed back and back and back like this it usually means they suck.
