Will Chris Columbus return to direct future installments of HARRY POTTER?

While director Chris Columbus has already announced he will not be returning to direct the third installment of the HARRY POTTER series, THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN, it doesn't necessarily mean he won't be back at all to direct future installments.
In a recent interview promoting the release of THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS, Columbus had this to say about returning to helm HARRY POTTER.
"There are a lot of things that would have to fall into place," explains Columbus. "I'd love to work with these kids again, but I don't know if they'll come back for the fourth because they might want to go off and lead their own lives."
"Coming back to do the fourth would be an interesting prospect in terms of reinventing it all," continues Columbus. "As I've said a bunch of times, 'You don't want to put nipples on the Batsuit.' You don't want to come in and suddenly turn it into STARLIGHT EXPRESS. That's the danger. You want to continue to work within the world, but do new and exciting things. I think Alfonso [Cuaron] is a great [directorial] choice because he will do something new with AZKABAN. It's not as much of a ride, so it will be exciting in a different way."
