No Sir! It is you who is kidding me. Doesn't bode well? Let me tell ya this, Will Smith & Steven Spielberg. That is all.

One of these days, we're going to figure out how Steven Spielberg will find time to finish the countless projects he's currently attached to. Like Guillermo del Toro, his future credit list continues to grow with the latest addition being a remake to Chan Wook-park's 2003 Korean film Oldboy. Variety adds that Will Smith is collaborating with the director along with likely playing the title role and Steven is currently looking for a writer to adapt the original film's story, which was based on the Manga by Nobuaki Minegishi.
Plot Concept: In the 2003 Korean original, a man is inexplicably kidnapped and imprisoned for 15 years and his wife is brutally murdered. On his release, he is given a wallet full of money and a mobile phone. A stranger calls and asks him to try and figure out why he was imprisoned. A girl appears and promises to help him solve the enigma and seek vengeance for his cruel fate. As the search progresses, the man finally comes face to face with his kidnapper, who proposes a game: if the man discovers the reason for his imprisonment, his kidnapper will kill himself. If not, then the girl will be killed. He has only five days to unravel the mystery.

what are you two clowns talking about, neither of you makes a good point and I can't tell who's side you are on. Call me on my cell once you make upu your mind. Until then, I'll just add tht Oldboyz is a great movie, and since Hancock was AWESOME, it has me shuttering in my feet awaiting this glorious release and it should be good so I can't wait to finally see it when it comes out - GO WILL SMITH (even if he doesn't swear)
Whatchu talkin about Willis!? What more do you need to make a point? Will Smith & Steven Spielberg is enough son.
The need to remake this with someone like Jason Statham or Daniel Craig but NOT Will Smith. What's next a remake of Audition with Paris Hilton????????

If ever an ending will be changed for American audiences, it's this ending.
Still, the rest could be done well.
This will suck ass! Yes Speilberg is money as is Smith (and regardless of quality this will make boatloadsof cash), but that is not going to make this film work on the same levels as the original. Are they willing to keep one of the big reveals at the end... I don't think so. Here's a better point why even bother? If the original is so great then why remake it? Answer there is none. When I saw this a couple of years ago when it came out I was blown away by how much it affected me. Great story of revenge and shows how low the human spirit can go.
I think this remake should be with Jet Li, or maybe Hanso....that would make it better
Are you kidding me!!! Old Boy is one of the best revenge movies ever. It has been copied in its execution so many times already. Not to mention it is ultra brutal. Unless Will Smith is planning to finally make an R-rated flick, which I doubt, this does not bode well. You can't really make a family friendly OldBoy.
