Singer/actor Will.i.am has talked to MTV about his upcoming role of John Wraith in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. He will be co-starring alongside Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Ryan Reynolds, Taylor Kitsch, Danny Huston, Dominic Monaghan, Daniel Henney and Lynn Collins. Director Gavin Hood is leading the 20th Century Fox production, based on a screenplay by David Benioff.

Here's what he had to say to MTV;

"I'm a teleporter. ... I'm here, I'm there, I'm everywhere. Boom, boom, boom!" Will revealed. "My character's name is John Wraith. He's a black Texan. He's not a cowboy, but his gear suggests that he is. He's just a badass who'll whoop your ass."

"You see that little scar I've got on my knuckles?" he asked, holding up his hand. "I'm a newbie when it comes to big action films and stuff. ... It was my fight scene. I was real into it, and then I missed my mark, and I punched the camera and broke the lens!

"But that goes to show you," he grinned. "I ain't to be messed with, because I break lenses!"

"I'm here, I'm there, I'm everywhere. Boom, boom, boom!" What the hell? Does that sound like a little kid talking or what? Well he's a performer so he might do fine, but I wouldn't have thought of him for this.

I doubt he has a big role, he was never that big a character in Weapon X but I still hate the idea of casting this clown for this film. How about a real actor. Do they think all the Black eyed peas fans will help the movie? Bad choice IMO. Hope I'm wrong.

I cant believe you guys are hating on him that hardcore, dudes a good guy. Plus two things; I cant really think of a rapper that has been in cast in a movie that has done really bad, you should be focusing your hate on super models most of them cant act their way out of a paper bag. And second Will.i.am has a unique kinda persona that will work well for a superhero.

For the love of Wolverine, did you not see JaRule in Fast & The Furious?...50 Cent in Get Rich or Die Tryin.............any DMX film??????????? Don't really mind Will IAM doing this, let's see what he's got. It's Wraithgalicious!!!

Being my name is William, I give him points for creative usage of spelling to make a name from a name....why is it always rappers turned actors, and not rockers? Well, Cradle of Fear with Danny Filth was something, but it sucked. I have nothing against rappers turned actors, it just seems weird to me, that's all.....I am psyched for this....I think it will be awesome. They really seem to want to make a good movie with this one.

I`ve never had a problem with rappers crossing over to acting, because there are a few good ones out there. Ice-T, IceCube, Queen Latifah, Mos Def, Common,Method Man in the Wire and even Ludacris. Even if you don`t like the type of movies they are in, their acting abilities are definitely there. Unfortunately, for every Mos Def, there is a Ja Rule. I haven't seen Get Rich or Die Tryin, but I`ve heard 50 isn`t all that bad. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn`t. I`ve never seen Will I Am do anything else but perform, so I can't really judge, but I`m not going to assume he sucks just because he is a rapper. If I were to hold anything against him, it would be turning the Black Eyed Peas from a respected, fun, underground hip hop group to some crappy, Pop/Rap jingle playing,Pepsi selling corporate whore and someone needs to slap Fergie, because she is not Fergielicious! That`s just my opinion. I don`t know why rockstars don't crossover as much, but it seems less advertised when they do. Bon Jovi, did a few movies and some tv shows and if there was one rocker that needs to do a movie and hasn`t, its Dave Grohl. He is just funny as Hell. Anyway, Will does look alot like Wraith. Maybe he can pull it off.

I have to admit I liked DMX for action movies (he's in jail right?). Rapper do bring tude to these movies that are needed sometimes but not always.
