But he does want to.  He hjaqs said that he is excited for the prospect of scoring the new Trilogy.  He is all ready on board for it.  So it all good.

 how about Bear Mcreary?

@ talis - I love Bear McReary and Brian Tyler is great as well.... but John Williams IS Star Wars. If one thing unites all the movies the most its the music. they should keep John Williams

I think its pretty safe to say that everyone and anyone associated with either of the two trilogies would be more than happy to return. Billy Dee included.

Man, Shatner must be reeling with all this!! LOL

Williams is a given, no one would be stupid enough to not use him, I'd hope. I'm curios and frightened to see what they come up with in the new features since they say the EU is out, dammit. That could be a good thing though,no book hounds (myself included) bitching about inaccuracies and WTF!'s Atleast the score can be depended on, now if only Drew would pick up the brush.

I thought this article would be about Lando Calrisian.

Don't get your hopes up as JJ always work with Michael Giachinno who is no slouch himself. Williams is THE MAN, but directors do like their composers. Giachinno has also adapted his style before, like THE INCREDIBLES' John Barry feel or his homages in his STAR TREK and MI3 scores.

I hope he does better than prequel crap soundtracks.  Only the Darth Maul theme is a standout, which they gave to annie in later movies.

I disagree..."Duel of the Fates" was some amazing music...and if you listen closely to Anikan's theme from Phantom Menace, it actually has aspects of the Imperial March hidden in it.  Of all the things I hated about the prequels, the music was not one of them.
