Wind Named Amnesia

The Review!
I'll keep this short and sweet. The video and audio are fine, but not particularly wonderful. Better than VHS but certainly not showcase material. The packaging is pretty boring and the graphic on the front looks sort of dated.

In fact, the whole film looks dated. Colors seem a bit washed out for the most part (artistic choice or transfer who knows, still looks kind of bland) The character designs didn't appeal to me all that much, and interaction between them is limited at best. The best character depth scenes are between the hero and a young boy he has befriended and learned from, and even these aren't very memorable.

The film has some good ideas; mankind's memory has been erased and they live like animals without speech, morals, society, or any of the other restricting elements of society today. Neither the "hero" character or his female companion are terribly deep, and she looks quite odd, very 70's or early 80's style. The two traverse the United States apparently so that he can learn about the sort of creature man is. The ending offers nudity and little resolution to the story. It just never got very exciting or suspenseful to me. The only suspense I felt was a hope for some interesting developments which didn't really come.

It's a rental. A buy for sci-fi fans.
