Winona Ryder is SPOCK'S Mother

That's what Variety is reporting at any rate. Winona Ryder has joined the cast of STAR TREK to portray the Vulcan mother of Spock in the Paramount production. Young Spock is being portrayed by Zachary Quinto. Ryder joins a cast that also includes Leonard Nimoy, Eric Bana, Chris Pine, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, and Rachel Nichols. JJ Abrams is directing based on a screenplay by Robert Orci and Alex Kurtzman.
STAR TREK hits theaters Christmas Day 2008.
