A friend of mine has the original Car #9  '58 Plymouth Fury from the filming of Christine in his massive auto collection...he also has 1974 replica of the original series Batmobile, Delorian, General Lee, Starsky & Hutch and Smokey & the Bandit in his collection.

I loved the book and loved the movie!!!

I enjoyed the movie for what it was, until I read the book. Then, the movie was just ok. The book is phenomenal. I must say I don't agree with the criticisms of the book contained in this review, but to each his own.

My favorite aspect of Christine was the (then state-of-the-art) effects that showed the car "healing itself" by reversing damage from its latest encounter.  Some of the scenes seemed to improve on the "film the damage occurring, then show it in reverse" method.  No CGI back then, so I was pretty impressed.  The tunes the car played when making its last stand or in its death throes were sadly appropriate.  One of the better King adaptations IMHO.

I never saw this, will probably watch it on cable first.

I liked this movie back in '83 and like just as much now in'13. I am amazed at how many good movies came out in '83 - many of which were probably wasted on me at the time (I was 12).
