Lionsgate Films has unleashed the first teaser trailer for their supernatural thriller Season of the Witch courtesy of IGN Movies. Watch it in the player below. The film will star Nicolas Cage, Ron Perlman, Stephen Campbell Moore, Christopher Lee, Robert Sheehan, Claire Foy, Ulrich Thomsen and Stephen Graham. Dominic Sena directed from a story by Bragi Schut.
Plot Concept: Nicolas Cage stars as a 14th century Crusader who returns with his comrade (Ron Perlman) to a homeland devastated by the Black Plague. A beleaguered church, deeming sorcery the culprit of the plague, commands the two knights to transport an accused witch (Claire Foy) to a remote abbey, where monks will perform a ritual in hopes of ending the pestilence.
A priest (Stephen Campbell Moore), a grieving knight (Ulrich Thomsen), an itinerant swindler (Stephen Graham) and a headstrong youth who can only dream of becoming a knight (Robert Sheehan) join a mission troubled by mythically hostile wilderness and fierce contention over the fate of the girl.
When the embattled party arrives at the abbey, a horrific discovery jeopardizes the knight's pledge to ensure the girl fair treatment, and pits them against an inexplicably powerful and destructive force.
Season of the Witch will hit theaters March 19, 2010.

Agree fft5305, Cage doesn't have the chops to remotely pass iof he were from that time period, he can't overcome that stoner sound and look
I don't know how anyone can say it looks good when all it did was flash across some images. Maybe after a full trailer
Yeah, I'm with fft5305. I drifted at the words "Cage stars...." The last time I saw something that was advertised with the words "Cage stars" my childhood hero, the true Spirit of Vengeance was maligned and massacred on film. I still have nightmares of Cage saying "let's ride."
I want to know when we can see "Solomon Kane." THAT'S the movie I'm dying to see.

And I agree with the others. Whoever must have thought Cage would fit in the 14th century must have been getting high with Cage himself.
This sounds like an action version of the 7th Seal. Max Von Sydow will be rolling in his...wait he's still alive.
I`m sorry but the casting director must have been gotten some good weed from Nic Cage to cast him as a 14th Century Knight. Maybe when he was still bad ass Cameron Poe in the Con Air days but even then, I don't think he could pull it off.
That being said I like the concept. I`m a sucker for movies about Knights crusading somewhere as long as Uwe Boll isn't attached. I bet you a bucket of chicken that he was on the list of directors they considered for this movie. I mean way down on it, but looking at the teaser I could see his slimey no talent hands on this.
What the? I hope this dont start off on the wrong foot. The Crusades ended in 1291. The plague was in 1348. Looks lick ass though.
