What They Say
Makoto's 18th birthday is just around the corner and Ito hopes that her present, a caramel flan, will do what her horoscope promised and capture his heart. She brings the dessert to his party as a surprise - but ends up getting some surprises there herself!

More romance abounds as the relationships between Ito's brother Yuto and Makoto's sister Akane - and between their friends Yoshiro and Misaki - undergo dramatic new developments.

The Review
Lots going on in this volume of W Juliet. First, Ito learns a bit about Makoto's likes and dislikes when she brings him a jumbo caramel flan for his 18th birthday present. Next, harsh words fly between siblings when teasing Tatsuyoshi (about a girl!) goes too far. Then we have dramatic new developments between awkward couples Yuto + Akane and Yoshiro + Misaki. Also, an unexpected visit from Makoto's estranged sister Sakura inspires Ito to meddle in Narita family affairs. Finally, with the all-critical cultural festival less than a day away, Takashi Iizuka takes some underhanded measures to tip things in his sister's favor...

Tatsuyoshi finally gets some air -- er-- frame time in this series. He has been mainly in the backdrop until now. Though he does not provide as much fodder for backstory as his older brothers (nor does he have their emotional baggage), Emura still gives an open and honest look into his personal views on his place within the Miura family household. Also, with the appearance of a love interest for Tatsuyoshi, everyone in the Miura family is paired up! In fact, it looks like all the Miura and Narita siblings are paired except for Tsubaki. (But then she has that weird brother complex going on...) With the cultural festival just around the corner, we're getting to the beginning of the end of this series!

Extras consist of a mini report of Emura's second autograph session, sketches, and cultural notes.
