Review: INCREDIBLE HULK on Blu-Ray

World's Finest DVD Report takes a look at the Blu-Ray edition of 'The Incredible Hulk'. The verdict?

Overall this is a jam packed release of a highly entertaining film that comes Highly Recommended. I really dug this movie a lot more than I thought I would, which isn’t a bad thing. Not a bad thing at all.

So yeah, I was kind of surprised by that episode of Wolverine and the Wolverines. Wolverine was barely even in it! The episode was 22 hardcore minutes of Nightcrawler kicking ass and chewing bubble gum. And there wasn't any gum in the episode, either! This show is doing an awesome job of setting up characters and laying down plot threads. I was, however, disappointed that with a title like X-Calibre the extent of Excalibur team members we saw were Kurt and Shadowcat (and she was just on the bookends). I was hoping for some Captain Britain, Rachel Summers, or maybe even Cersise.

Can't wait until 11/5/08 when Batman:TAS The Complete Series is released on DVD. Then I won't have to get jerked around by "Jetix" anymore. They always seem to play the same 3 or 4episodes as it is.

So when is this Wolverine cartoon on in the U.S.?

AMiSHPiRATE • Oct 16, 2008, 06:00am •

It's supposed to hit in January, redhairs99.  The upcoming straight to dvd "Hulk vs Thor" and "Hulk vs Wolverine" animations lead into it (having not seen them, I'm not sure how).

Wolverine and the X-Men has REALLY impressed me and that last episode was excellent. It's like "Hell yeah I wanna watch Nightcrawler swordfight pirates led by Spiral!" And cameos by Squidboy and what I think might have been Pixie kind of sealed the deal.

Chances are that we will see this cartoon in the States, but probably not til the season is nearly over in Canada, since in Canada, their fall season starts in the spring, so we get episodes usually 3-5 months later after they're viewed up North.  So probably expect the first airing of WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN if picked up (which will be most likely) sometime during the first quarter of 2009.

It looks cool from the previews, but the trend of singling out Wolverine and making him the focus of the X-men always set wrong with me.  Wolverine is a cool character, but so are the other X-men.  By focusing so much on him in the movies and now the cartoon, just really diminishes the rest of the X-men in my opinion.

What if Warner made Justice League, Batman and the Justice League based on the success of the Batman films?

Plus that it's out of character for Wolverine to lead anything except himself.

That all said, I'm sure I'll watch & like it when it hits the states, but it still bothers me.
