Everybody should just take themselves out of the universe we live in now, where we know what Marvel and Disney can do, and just give the Fox X-universe a bit of a break, I think.  Seriously, when I saw the first X-Men movie, I loved it!  Yeah, there was plenty to nitpick: not starting with the original characters, making Rogue the girl in the Wolverine/Jubilee dynamic from the comic books...yeah, plenty of things to nitpick and for bigger fanboys than me to whine about - but even the whiners at the time loved it also.

The first thing to piss me off after the first movie was how Halle Berry, ACADEMY AWARD WINNER, pretty much quit acting after the first movie.  The second thing to piss me off was the Origins: Wolverine movie.  Sorry, didn't find one redeeming quality about it.  At all.

But come on, I liked where the films started from, and I even liked X-Men 3!  I'm sure Marvel and Disney would do them better these days, but since that is not going to happen for some time, just don't see the movies if you don't want to.  Just don't be talking about how Fox BOTCHED it all as you look back through hindsight.  Fox made some pretty good movies in a pre-Marvel/Disney market.

 Well said, Sarcastic Caveman.

violator14 10/30/2012 11:06:50 AM

Nah.... we shouldn't give them a chance until they give us a truly kick ass film. I dont see any other reason we should give them a chance.

@SarcasticCaveman - Yeah, when I first saw the X-Men movies I thought that they were good. Not super great, but good. I was disappointed by the character depictions, but that was minor.  The only thing that was perfect was Prof X.  So spot on it was awesome.  Stewart was and always be Professor X.

Then I saw Iron Man and then it started to make the X-Men movies feel less awesome. Then I saw Avengers and then the X-Men movies started to look and feel like crap. Sorry but after Avengers there is just no comparison for the X-Men movies from Fox.

It is like seeing a woman you think is hot at a bar but then you see a women who is REALLY hot. The first woman just does not look as hot anymore, ever again. The X-Men movies are the all right woman who was hot at first. The Avengers movie is the smokin hot chick who makes all the other woman look like crap. That is just the fact of reality for me.

DarthoftheDead 10/30/2012 11:16:48 AM

 Nicely put, Violator.

DarthoftheDead 10/30/2012 11:30:17 AM

 You are spot on, Axia.

axia777 10/30/2012 11:45:18 AM

Thanks Darth, i see you feel that same.  I just wish that Marvel never did the deal with Fox.  It just sucks.  :(  Like signing a deal with the Devil.  *sigh*

I bet Whedon thinks it is all funny though seeingh as how many times Fox fukked on him too!  LOL

SinisterPryde 10/30/2012 11:53:12 AM

Fox may have taken the X-Men franchise in the wrong direction but without those films I am not even sure there would be an Avengers movie.

Anyway, I am cautiously optimistic about The Wolverine.  I am also hopeful about the Days of Future Present story (even though I know ti will hardly resemble anything in the comics).

mellowdoux 10/30/2012 11:56:39 AM

 You are correct, SinisterPryde.
Sadly, this is something the "I hope this movie BOMBS!!!" crowd can't seem to grasp. Not that Fan Boys boycotting the movie would cause it to bomb, anyway. That would take a much wider boycott than comic-book fans alone for it to make a dent in profits.
