Axia makes an interesting point.  Back when the first Spider-Man and X-Men movies were released, the ascendence of the Superhero Genre in film was just beginning.  We had been longing for Marvel characters to make their way to the silver screen for decades, to no avail.  We were being given a choice between Marvel movies which failed to live up to their full potential, but were still fun action flicks, or NOTHING.  Not much of a choice really, so we embraced what we had available and learned to live with it.

Today, the Superhero Genre in film has a higher profile than any fanboy expected it to achieve in their wildest dreams.  Marvel characters in particular have been leading the charge.  We have seen the promised land from Marvel Studios in all it's glory.  All else pales in comparison.  The days of Howard the Duck are behind us, and our expectations are high.

There is some hope on the horizon.  Sony's stock prices have been dropping like a rock all throughout 2012.  If things continue this way in 2013, Sony Pictures is doomed.  That means Spider-Man and Ghost Rider will be back in the hands of Marvel/Disney.  As for the X-Men and Fantastic Four over at Fox, there's no relief in sight.

 @Axaia - No problem, Dude.

And who know's, if  "Bill Denborough" can do it twice, maybe Marvel can also......

DarthoftheDead 10/30/2012 12:23:34 PM

 And just for the record.....

I would'nt pay any mind to ANYTHING mellowdoux say's at All........He thought that the Avengers was going to be beaten by Nolan's "The Outside Man".(Nolan's TDKR couldnt even do that)

That just goe's to show you how much credit you can give to his opinion's......

Alway's a Pleasure, Folk's........

I want Marvel to get the rights back so Disney can have a Wolverine vs JarJar Binks movie and finally see that floppy ear motherfucker get sliced up

axia777 10/30/2012 1:36:32 PM

@Wiseguy - ROFL!!!  Someone should make a animation of that!

Wiseguy 10/30/2012 1:39:26 PM

Btw I say that back the news is that Disney is buying Lucas Films and all it's assets

Guess George had enough of fanboys calling him a douche and really intends on retiring

Thanks hanso, we're good thank God. Just some minor wind damge. Unfortunately not the case for all, especially folk living near the water

Yeah I'm digging the poster too. It actually reminds me of some of Miller's early work on which this film is loosely based on

Just saw the Disney/LucasFilms announcement.

Holy f@@@ is all I can say

And Disney has said they plan on releasing an Episode VII (in 2015), VIII AND IX (and more to follow after). Sounds like this has been in the works for some time for them to claim a new SW movie in 2 years.

Wyldstaar 10/30/2012 2:42:54 PM

HOLY CATATONIC KITTIES BATMAN!  Disney now owns Lucasfilm!  This is not something I saw coming.  Disney is now THE studio in Hollywood.  Star Wars will now be in the hands of people who actually know how to write a story.

I'm gonna need some time to fully absorb this information.
