Old Man Logan should definately, absolutely %100 be his swan song.  It would be hard for anyone to screw up the best Wolverine storyline in recent memory too badly.

@Roqueja

But how will that happen? Spider-Man, Hawkeye, Hulk and Thor are at other studios. Old Man Logan is a book that reflects what happened to him and his fellow superheroes. A movie without the reference of these other heroes would be hollow and not really great. Fox only has Fantastic Four and X-Men. Who will Logan fight in the end if not Hulk? The Thing?

I think another Wolverine sequel would be redundant.

I don't want to get gratuitously critical. I saw The Wolverine twice over the weekend and I liked it better than X-Men Origins..., but it was just a little better. The melodrama kept messing it up for me. They were trying to make an engaging movie using the Japanese book and Logan hiding and broken. That was the hook for me. It just seemed like none of the characters ever engaged with each other long enough to engage. It was almost a vanity showcase for each actor.

For example: I loved Rila Fukushima who played Yukio. She's adorable! But those scenes where she's weeping for Logan... I mean, why? Plus, her character in the comic book is not a precognitive mutant.

I think that Hugh Jackman and James Mangold sincerely wanted to make a great movie. It's a difficult process with a lot of pressure. But I don't think another Wolverine will be that much different from the last two.

why does it say its being made after Apocalypse but then says it will release before that movie?

I say let Hugh do it as long as he wants to.  Box office money will be there.

My vote is for a Alpha Flight movie for him, I don't have to explain that to fans right?  It's low enough radar for fans for them to update story on that.  Maybe we can have that Peter Dinklinge as Puck finally.  The rest will be pretty boys and girls roles for newbie actors.

Roqueja I agree 100%

You can have different mutants fill the roles of Marvel characters.

You can't do an Old Man Logan, The reason he becomes "Old Man Logan" is because all his X-men Buddies are killed (can't remember if Logan had something to do with it), and all of the main characters of that story are not owned by Fox.  And I don't know he is getting "before x-men apocalpyse" It clearly states in both tweets "After".  Plus Wolvie is not gonna be in X-men Apocalypse, so he should be able to film that one.

I am  big fan of the way the story breathed new life into the character moreso than the actual characters used to drive the story.  That being said however, it would probably work better as an animated feature, to keep it as close to the source material.  The Planet Hulk storyline was a great adaptation that really worked from the Marvel house.  I am still waiting for a Future Imperfect animated feature as well.

 Dazzler, I agree. Let Hugh play him as long as the fans pay money to see him. I have no problem with letting him go on forever. I think Rocky Balboa was the 2nd best Rocky movie (after Rocky II) and I would watch if they made a Rocky VII.  It is to soon to talk replacement. Hugh will do at least another 5 years of coverage. Then you would let it sit for a while, so... it is still at least 8 years away.
