MTV News has yet another EXCLUSIVE sneak peek of the new The Wolverine trailer. This footage is introduced by Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman. The full length trailer will air tomorrow.

The Plot: Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

The Wolverine features Will Yun Lee, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima, and Brian Tee.

The Wolverine arrives in theaters on July 26th, 2013.

OK I know it isn't much that juiced up my anticipation a little bit

Why they gotta be teasin' me with teases of the teaser?

violator14 3/26/2013 8:24:51 AM

That scene where he's walking toward the samurai-guy was pretty menacingly badass. First time I thought his height worked well for a scene. He's pretty much a Sabretooth with giant claws to these lil japanese dudes.

makabriel 3/26/2013 9:23:09 AM

Huh.. does it cut out half way through?  Only 33 seconds?

violator14 3/26/2013 9:23:57 AM

Btw, Wtf was up with that last scene where they talk about possibly reversing the process?? They BETTER not be talking about removing his adamantium or something cuz that is Magneto's deal!! They better not fukk with that stuff.

oh and they better not be able to somehow make him lose his powers either. I absolutely HATE those storylines where the heroes lose their powers and they have to go find themselves and all that stupid "oh woe as me" bullsh*t!

Not available...damm...

The reversing the process comment was an injoke, referring to the massive boycott campaign planned for "The Wolverine" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past."

When questioned on it, Hugh Jackman had this to say:

"Yes, word has come back to us about the 7 Fanboys who plan to boycott these movies so that the rights revert to Marvel. So what can we do? When you're faced with the inevitable, you either get angry or go down with a smile on your face.
"Most of us are resolved that these are the last two FOX movies in the X-Men franchise before this massive boycott. We decided to pop that gag in there about "Reversing the process/reversing the rights" so folks will remember we conceeded with dignity."

Then he fell on the floor laughing and was rushed to hospital after he bust a gut.

Always a pleasure... ;)

cool, i just watched it... a little less than 33 sec. But still o.k. dam H.J is cut up i think he looks better here than in any of the other X-men and wolverine movies..

I'm with you on this one Violator.

I hated that in Spidey 2. So f.ucking dumb.

Also happened in Superman 2, Fantastic Four RIse of Surfer (power swap with Torch and Thing), Thor.

What bugs me is that we wait 2-3 years to finally see these characters back on the big screen but then stuck with a watered down version.
