Ok before the Fanboys die or start a Lynch mob - this is being targeted towards women. So We have EVERY OTHER HERO....so let the girls have this one.

The efforts to bring Wonder Woman out for the modern audience hasn't been smooth in the slightest, something that can be said about a lot of comic properties over the years, but Wonder Woman has definitely been buffeted about a fair amount in a short amount of time. With the go-ahead for David E. Kelley to get the TV incarnation rolling with a pilot that may be directed by McG, there's a whole lot of interest out there about it and a slew of rumors about what the setup will be that has made quite a few people, myself included, cringe about what they may be doing to the Amazonian princess. Over at Bleeding Cool, they apparently have seen the full on script for the pilot and read through it while providing non-spoilers for it. The bullet lists are pretty straightforward.
When it comes to the characters, they have this to say:
In describing who it is that Wonder Woman is, which will define the tone of the show, they say:

@johnwhitetoledo - Yes, let's be happy about them making Wonder Woman, one of the pillars of the Justice League, into a "modern business woman who is a warrior on the side" and "Sings along to the radio in multiple scenes ". They are going to go all "Vampire Diaries" BS with this show. No wait, i know who they are trying to capture as viewers! The old Buffy fans! What a load of crap.
Watch the newest DC animated Wonder Woman movie. That is how Diana should be handled, PERIOD.
This just about kills any and all chances of a real serious live action Wonder Woman movie ever being made.
This is gonna suck a$$ and not in a good way. This is WRONG on so many levels. Good god, if you're not gonna do it right, just don't do it.
I think it's funny that when the DKR script was released, we all cried BS and didn't believe it. Why are you believing this now? Some elements make sense but overall it just seems like some fanboy's worst case scenario put on paper. Sure, there wil be comedic elements but this doesn't sound like any David E. Kelley show I've ever watched and that includes Ally McBeal...I have stronger faith.
I don't completely agree that this is been marketed towards women. These genre females depend on fanboys, especially one from the comic books and they know this.
But yes this sounds awful. Of course no one can say for sure yet. She's a Goddess, I say play down the alias as much as possible. Let her be the ambassador she is supposed to be. I'd like to see Themyscira and the Amazons play a bigger role. Men want to find and conquer Themyscira with the help of some of WW villains, WW tries to prevent it and the heavy handed response Queen Hippolyta would opt for.
You know I'll just go for my first suggestion, squash the tv bullshit and let's make a big screen version already. WW deserves it and if THOR can work I don't see why not
*ugh* I think I just threw up a little bit.
My gf is a big WW fan and this is jettisoning pretty much everything she likes about her.
Marketted towards women.....?
You mean marketed towards the ones that think Sex in the City is a great TV?
I am female and have been reading WW for more than 20 years, since the Perez reboot and this script is frankly insulting. As incensed I was about Catwoman, this is even worse. You take comicdoms premier superheroine and turn her into what? Ally freaking McBeal??? I suppose I have to give David E Kelly for at least looking at the comic book without getting the slightest inkling into what Diana's appeal in those books were.
I had kept my fingers crossed that someone would clue on to the idea that making a WW movie isn't too hard if you go down the route of Clash of the Titans with the gods, epic quests and great battle scenes. In the same way that Thor is being handled, Diana's story could be great.
But no, like Catwoman, they have to make it all about appealing to the crowd that reads freaking Cosmopolitan magazine and come away thinking its a life changing experience! The only women who will watch this show, won't be WW fans because no way anyone who respects the character could think this drivel is Diana.
I can see it already..... another boring, and repetitive-ass series like Smallville, where someone in the cast ends up in the hospital every episode, and wonder-woman saves the day. *zzzzzZZZZzzzzz*
Sorry, but this sounds like it is going to a huge pile of CW style over dramatized bullsh*t. This will be craptastic and is OBVIOUSLY NOT being made for ANY DC comic book fans AT ALL. It is being made for teen girls and dorks who love One Three Hill. Fukk them all to Hell for this.
