Rob Minkoff (STUART LITTLE) is said to be starting negotiations, which look favorable, to direct Warner Bros.'s big-budget remake of Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY.
Once Minkoff is secured, the studio will look to hire actors in the film, which tells the story of poor Charlie Bucket, who along with four other children, finds a golden ticket which allows him to be given a tour of the mysterious and marvelous chocolate factory of and by the reclusive Willy Wonka.
Brillstein-Grey Entertainment will produce the film.
Previously, Gary Ross (PLEASANTVILLE) hads been attached to helm the project.
