Expect a new zombie-focused horror comedy with Woody Harrelson attached, Maniacs. The actor is now attached to star in Zombieland, says The Hollywood Reporter. Much like Shaun of the Dead, the story focuses on two mismatched friends dealing with a world full of zombies. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick ("The Joe Schmo Show") wrote the spec while Ruben Fleischer is set to direct for Columbia Pictures. Gavin Polone and his Parish Films are producing.
Plot Concept: "Zombieland" revolves around a mismatched pair of survivors who find friendship and redemption in a world overrun by zombies. Harrelson plays one of the men, a zombie fighter named Albuquerque.
This could go either way. Shaun of the Dead was good because, well because it was good. It blended comedy, horror, gore, and some drama in a really good way. It is hard to get a blending of genres just right. I think Slither worked well, Fido was good, UNdead was weird, but good. This will have to do something to set it apart. It is good to see woody making a bit of a comeback. Love me some Hemp too.
I think he had problems with alcohol. Too bad. Seemed a decent fellow. The second Schmoe was ok, too, but not quite as good as the first. The first season was inspired.
"Shaun of the Dead" was funny, gore filled, entertaining and ORIGINAL. Nothing about the concept of this movie sounds remotely original.
"You've got red on you".
Y’all need to pay your respects to the original and still the best zombie comedy ever. The film that actually entered the call of “Brains†into our lexicon. The Return of the Living Dead rules all zombie comedies. Give props bitches! (while ignoring every single sequel)
Go Woody!!! I’m there.
