Looks good to me but I've never read the book etc also the first 3rd of the trailer it was all shot in my hometown of Glasgow Scotland  in George square wierd to see it in such a blockbuster trailer !

The trailer was average and I still don't get why they just didn't make this movie with another title?  If you're not going to make a movie based on the book then don't use the title.

Or, maybe this movie is the set up, the main story; Part II might be the movie based on the actual book where we get the individual stories that resemble what is in the book.

Also, I think it would be cool to see fast zombies at the start but they start slowing down as they rot; giving humanity a fighting chance.

From what I have read, the original script by JMS was much closer to the book and that was the script that actually got the movie green lit (and a leaked copy was given a rave review by AICN); however, prior to production, the script was totally rewritten to make it an action movie set in the present.  Plus, after the original production was complete they went back and rewrote the final third of the movie again to be followed by reshoots.

Given how great the Walking Dead has been, this actually doesn't look that good to me.  It looks way to CGI heavy.  I guess I'm in the minority, but I thiink practical effects for something like this just look better.  I understand that the cost would be astronomical for what they were trying to pull off with real actors, but it looks people in a CGI cartoon to me at times.  Maybe when they go over the CGI again before the movie is actually released it will improve, but for now I can wait until this comes out on video or cable.

I think that they didn't want to be seen by people to be ripping off The Walking Dead (for the people who haven't read the book) that caused the rewriting, and reshoot's in order to reframe this as action movie. This looks like a throw shit at the wall to see how much sticks, kind of movie. And it shows in this trailer.

Yeah, this looks nothing like the WWZ book - and I believe they're planning on it being a trilogy so get used to it I guess.

Watching it reminds me more of David Wellington's Monster Island.

That being said, the zombie swarming in the clip is a terrifying visual that I'm excited to see play out.

From what I understood, virtually the entire movie had to be rewritten and reshot once Foster's original version was in the editing process.  Paramount didn't like what they had seen, so they told Foster to reshoot nearly the entire thing.  Paramount is essentially getting one movie for the price of two here.

Eh nothing like the book from the looks of this trailer but i'm sold.  I'll be there!

It looks good, for a Brad Pitt movie. I stil think its a rental.

Agree with Goldeneyez. I'm not a particular zombie fan but The Walking Dead is beyond fantastic and has spoiled me for life with zombies. This looks like a totally different take than other Walker movies and the CGI on one hand makes a horrifying relentless sight but I'm not sure it will work. Plus the fact that it has been rewritten and reshot makes me wary.

But knowing Brad Pitt's excellent track record for quality, I'm sure he wouldn't have done a blockbuster genre flick if he wasn't trying for something really good. More than likely I'll end up seeing it.
