TV writer/producer Brent Forrester has landed the job of adapting the childrens novel THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES into a screenplay. Forrester, who wrote episodes for THE SIMPSONS, THE BEN STILLER SHOW and the Tom Arnold feature film THE STUPIDS, is adapting the book for Nickelodeon Movies, Atmosphere Entertainment and the Gotham Group and takes over the project from writer David Berenbaum. Paramount Pictures would distribute the movie if/when it gets made.

Written by Holly Black and illustrated by Tony DiTerlizzi, THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES is about two twin boys and their sister who discover a land filled with fairies and goblins inside their great-uncle's dilapidated house. The project was first optioned for film back in June 2003.
