It seems as if there might be problem at the Baxter Building. The relaunch of the live action Fantastic Four franchise is getting some rewrites. The Hollywood Reporter is stating that Simon Kinberg has been brought in to re-write the film. Josh Trank still remains the director but, Kinberg will revamp the screenplay.

Simon Kinberg is currently a producer and writer for the Star Wars Rebels animated series. His screenplay credits include the 2008 version of Sherlock Holmes and the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past. Adding him to the writing staff can only be a sign of the film heading in the right direction.

What fans may not like is that the Fantastic Four movie is scheduled for March 16, 2015. That release date may get changed.

I was hoping Fox would team up with Sony for this and include a Spidey cameo, but this will not happen because Movie execs are a bunch of joyless, money grabbing bastards who... oh fuck it, who cares!!!!!!!???

Kingberg is the same person who wrote the screenplay for XMen DOFP!? Are we talking Fantasctic Four and X-Men cinematic crossover, finally!!??!!? :-D

what's wrong with March 16 2015?

I'm still hoping Fox lets this property revert back to Marvel. With the X-Men alone they have plenty of material to build on. The Fantastic Four however would be more at home interacting with the rest of the MCU than the X-Men.

I read somewhere else some rumor that if they're not into actual filming production by some time next year the FF would go back to Marvel. I don't think it likely that Fox is going to let that happen but one never knows

I hope they change their minds on a "black" Human Torch. I don't understand why they want to take 50 year old characters and try to change their race. Especially since the Storms are brother and sister. That to me just does not make since. Nick Fury I can see since the movie version is basiclly the ultimate Fury who was black in the comic.

Well the Daredevil remake had a script and a director lined up and were about to start casting. But then the script was tossed out, then the director walked. Fox asked for an extension on the rights but were basically told not just no but hell no. Then a few months later the rights lapse back to Marvel. So I doubt Fox will let that happen with the FF.

Give it up Fox and give the FF4 back to Marvel.  Nuff said.   Maybe someday even the X-men will go back to Marvel.  One can dream, right?

I am actually coming to terms with the fact The Marvel Cinematic Universe won't have Spidey or Wolverine and Co., But I would STILL prefer FF teams up with Spidey and NOT Fox's X-Men, they are based in Manhattan just like Spider-Man and there is a real sense of history between them, that could work nicely...

I think I'm the only guy on the planet that actually liked the original FF movies from 2005 & 2007.  I feel lonely...
