On this rare occassion where I get the first word here, I'll just say that if this does happen...another reboot...should this surprise anybody at this point?

Vulture.com is reporting that a Gremlins reboot is in the works over at Warner Brothers. The Horror/ Comedy by Joe Dante and Steven Spielberg first arrived in 1984. They then followed it with Gremlins 2: The Next Batch in 1990.
Vulture also reported “negotiations of this sort have happened several times over the years, but making Spielberg’s deal always proved too daunting a financial prospect and his involvement might simply be a requirement for making the film at all, so don’t hold your breath”.
A Gremlins sequel or reboot could be a lot of fun. Hopefully, they will keep the effects practical and not bog it down with a lot of CGI.

I didn't get he first word on here (not that it matters), I spoke too soon, pardon me!
On this rare occasion I'll just say this......apparently KD is a really really slow typist
Gremlins reboot? meh, I loved the film as a youngster and it was pretty good to be honest. It just doesn't hold a special place in my heart to either offend me or excite me.
I would pretty much guarantee that if this ever does happen, the gremlins will be all CG and not practical.
Well, Scarface (1983) was a reboot of the 1932 film... which is now in the works for a 2014 reboot... does that count?
Frankenstein was made around 1898, the Karloff version was a reboot, and a treasure trove of reboots ever since, still I think the most rebooted movie in history.
10$ all Gremlins will be CGI...a reboot, how original...
