Jack Ryan Might Change Release Dates

Because of Scorsese?

By Robert T. Trate     September 25, 2013

In what may be a strange turn of events, Jack Ryan fans may have to wait a tad longer for their relaunch. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Martin Scorsese hopes to finish Wolf of Wall Street in time for its November 15th release. The current cut is 180 minutes and Scorsese hopes to shorten it. If he doesn’t find a way, the film will get pushed back, to possibly Christmas or further, and may not be in contention for the Oscars.
“If Wolf is done in time for a holiday release, Paramount will push back the opening of KennethBranagh's Jack Ryan from Christmas Day to Jan. 17 and give Wolf of Wall Street the Christmas Day slot, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter. Jack Ryan would open over the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday”.
Jack Ryan, stars Chris Pine, Keira Knightley, Kevin Costner and is directed by Kenneth Branagh (Thor).
Jack Ryan is currently slated for a December 25th, 2013 release.

They're makling a Jack Ryan movie?  Does anyone still care about Jack Ryan?

I was wondering what was going on with Jack Ryan.  I was really surprised that nothing so much as a poster had been revealed for the film, much less a trailer with only 3 months to go until its release.

Now that Paramount is considering bumping it to January, I wonder if they expect it to stink.

Not much news about the movie but it should be interesting once it comes out. The only bad thing about the cast for the next Jack Ryan movie is Keira...again, anorexic women should not be allowed on screen.

Actually I remember reading (on Mania, come to think of it...) that Branaugh is not only directing the film, but also playing the villain.  That will be enough to get me to the theatre, though I would argue Alec Baldwin was the first and best Jack Ryan, though I couldn't imagine the Baldwin of today in that role...

C'mon man, give us a good Rainbow Six movie.

Sum Of All Fears was great. Chris Pine should bring Mr Ryan into a whole new light. I like.

Moving a release out of the holiday season is usually not a good sign.  Martin Luther King Day is not Thanksgiving or Christmas  for movie watching.  I hope this doesn't mean that the studio knows they have a bomb on their hand.

Paramount now knows it made a big mistake , it don't have Ben Affleck !
