Man of Steel Soundtrack Sampling

Track List Details

John Williams made us all believe a man could fly with his Superman theme. What will truly be interesting is if Hans Zimmer can do the same. No one should have to follow in the footsteps of John Williams. With that being said, if I had to pick one composer to succeed Williams it would be Hans Zimmer.

Check out this sampling of Zimmer’s Man of Steel score. The track list has been posted below for the Man of Steel Deluxe Edition Soundtrack. The track list looks to be spoiler free. The soundtrack arrives June 11th, 2013.

crazy I couldn't stop thinking it wasn't the audio for Cirque du Soleil!!!

Definitely want to hear the soundtrack after it's release. Hans Zimmer is definitely the most sought after composer in Hollywood and a worthy successor to John Williams.

Lol the song titles are all phrases I've heard from the movie trailers. However, movie of the summer soundtrack I will take. Man of Steel is going to be amazing..

Wiseguy 5/1/2013 8:36:04 AM

I pretty much never buy movie soundtracks unless they just have actual songs that I like otherwise the movie is enough for me.

But yeah I agree with Daybreak, "movie of the summer" for sure

I approve.

Sorry folks but this will not have people humming after the movie is over. Where's the theme? Superman needs a memorable motha f-ing theme. Spiderman, Batman(Nolans) X-men, Avengers. None had memorable themes and now supes. At least they tried in the 80's but now....

I'm not overly impressed, but I think I would need to hear more than what I did to make a final judgement.

I guess I need to get on the Superman avatar bandwagon.  I don't know why everyone is going that route, must have been something on a board I missed last week when I was on travel.  :)

violator14 5/1/2013 12:18:26 PM

millean-it was on the gay GL thread last week or so. lol

thezillaman 5/1/2013 1:13:59 PM

coolerKing, that's so fucking true. They could have just tweaked the old one and keep it. Instead we get samples and an expensive synthesizer to come up with weird sound that will never get you going like the classic do. So here's hoping that the movie is better than the sound tracks.. I still think that what I heard sounds like Cirque du soleil!!! Lol.

With this soundtrack, I think you really have to do something different from what John Williams did.  The original is so iconic, but if the WB is truly seeking a full on reboot and trying to distance themselves from the original and Superman Returns, then this is the route I think you have to take.  It'll always be compared to Williams' score, but at some point you have to break from that original mold.  Like Elfman's music from the Burton Batman films, though not as iconic as Williams' Superman score, it would be totally out of place in Nolan's Bat films.

For me, this is the movie of the summer, if not the year, so I'm looking forward to the film itself and the score.
