WWZ Sequel in the Works

According to EW

About half way through World War Z I remembered that someone, somewhere, said this film was starting point for a whole new franchise. At that point I knew, that by the end, the world was not going to go back to the way it was.

As those of you who know already World War Z ends on a note where Pitt and company could go in multiple directions. Well Entertainment Weekly is reporting that a sequel is already in the works.

A person close to Pitt’s World War Z told The Associated Press on Monday that Paramount Pictures is likely to develop a sequel to the apocalyptic zombie thriller. The person was not authorized to announce the plans and spoke on condition of anonymity”. EW

So it look as if Brad Pitt will finally have his franchise picture.

Pitt had spoken to the press in recent weeks about the possibilities of sequels.

“We’ve got so many good story lines stemming from the book or inspired by the book and then just generated from our own powwows,” he said. “It might still be fun. We’ve got enough material, that’s for sure.”

Sound off below Maniacs. Are you ready for another WWZ?

Good movie, interesting take on the genre...made comparsions to real world organisms...good film...but NOT the book.   So may stories in the book of how different areas survived...lots of material.  be curious to see what story line they follow

You could definately base a sequel on the book, tell the stories of those that survived the zombie apocolypse.

Loved the movie, however I really wished we could have seen the "Battle of Yonkers" from the book.  Hopefully next go around, but considering how different the movie(s) are from the book, probably will not happen.

DarthBob that is an excellent idea.

I thought it sucked ass. PG13 Zombies lame. that's just me though I know some of my friends thought it was o.k nothing spectacular.

The lack of gore sucked but it had several tense moments and was pretty good overall.  I'd be up for a sequel if they added more of the book in.

Got the book after I saw the movie. That is how much I enjoyed the movie. I KNOW the book is totally different but still love them both.
