Walden and Fox adapting "The Doubtful Guest" - Apr 06, 2007 - 11:20am
The Jim Henson Co. will do Gorey right without a doubt...it is also about time...I still would like to see an animated feature film based on Gorey's stylitic approach and tone...

"28 Weeks Later" Trailer now Online - Mar 29, 2007 - 07:06pm
28 Days Later has to be one of the most well rounded flicks existing within the realms of both genre and social commentary since the late 80’s. The trailer actually made me wait until it came out on DVD so I could control the whole fear element, since zombies and cannibalism tend to really bother me. Overall, for me, it was like Omega Man meets Dawn of the Dead meets Trainspotting. I am concerned that Danny Boyle will not be directing the sequel (too), but it seems as though he created a rich enough mythos that a director and a writer seriously interested in breaking new ground in telling a story about the effects of a post apocalyptic environment on human nature, and bio-zombie, enRAGEd track stars will be a wonderful continuation. The trailer is gut wrenching…

WB President talks SUPERMAN sequel - Aug 19, 2006 - 12:27pm
sorry, didn't see the 2nd page....

WB President talks SUPERMAN sequel - Aug 19, 2006 - 12:26pm
...what if they did The Death of Superman and brought in Doomsday? or how about Darkside, someone who can actually go a couple of rounds with Sups...kinda sick of Kryptonite...

WB President talks SUPERMAN sequel - Aug 19, 2006 - 12:19pm
In order to maintain true Superman fans interest in the next, they are going to have to bring out the big guns. It would be neat if the sequel was the "Death of Superman" and Doomsday was brought in...or how about Darkside? I am so sick of Kryptonite being the only real danger...

FANTASTIC FOUR sequel gets another title - Aug 19, 2006 - 01:58am
I wish they had had introduced the Mole Man for FF1 instead of Doctor Doom. There was nothing substantial about this Doom. Kinda crappy when everyone teamed up against him, not very heroic...he was such an ad hoc villain. There should have been some build up for Doom. The promotion for FF was so similar to the X-Men too, but it was all surface. Sounds like FF3 will feature Mole Man, so not sure where Galactus fits in here, plus this franchise is a bit too shallow to bring in the big guy unless they seriously retrofit the FF direction.

TRANSFORMERS announcement in just hours! - Aug 19, 2006 - 01:12am
...Sorry, but can someone transform into something other than cars or planes in this movie too?... i.e. Dinobots and Insectacons...come on here...what,? Mainframe animation pumped blood into the Transformers franchise with Beast Wars and Beast Machines...great stories and in some cases really left field...but hey, it really delved into the relationships between the biologic and mechanistic. They also got a bit meta. But, we have some new takes with Robots in Disguise, Armada and Super Link/ Energon on CN...I hope that Transformers can keep pace with the storm of content produced in the past 6 years. There is a legacy involved here...I so hope that Unicron has a key role in this flick too.

William Shatner to voice Kirk in video game - Aug 19, 2006 - 12:28am
...I think that I had better buy this game...I do not really like Star Trek, and actually I hate video games, but if I can hear William Shatner's voice in some sort of scenario, I am sure that I will like this game and maybe even ST...I really want to buy what ever this is...hey, and screw you COLDHARDTRUTH, that is not "annoyingly...paced...vocals" that is Shakespire being channeled through the throat of an artist!!!! The first season of TJ Hooker was a monument in television history. Also, someone mentioned the Borg...what is that, Swedish?

Godzilla con-troversy - Aug 18, 2006 - 11:59pm
...hey I know that this is a Godzilla post, but I am with you Ninjawitch for an Alpha Flight cameo in the Wolvie flick (I wish you never brought this up cause now I am going to expect it, thanks for ruining the Wolverine movie for me!)...back to G now...I also would like to get a hold of Biolante, but there are also some anti-Middle East diatribe in this flick (maybe TOHO received some negative commentary to this)...do you remember the controversy in the states about Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah and the death of the US soldiers on G’s birth island at the hands (I mean feat and tail) of the Godzillasaurus? Supposedly it was never to be released here because of this...

Guillermo del Toro talks HELLBOY 2 - Aug 18, 2006 - 11:25pm
I remember when I first saw the stills of Ron as Hellboy and thought how hooky he looked, being a big Mignola fan, and really did not expect a lot...it was strange how amazing the flick was and how true to the story telling (humor included)it really was...and honestly, what a limited audience/ appeal of this subgenre...I am so happy that Del Toro can create a sequel...

Dominic Purcell is the new HULK? - Aug 18, 2006 - 10:57pm
I am still trying to get over the mutant poodle from the first Hulk...really what the hell was that about...well, there really is no place to go but up out of the hole it dug for itself with this franchise. I mean this flick had about as much depth as a car, a 2-hour car commercial. I just hope that it is not another origin story...It would be great if they pulled a Singer/ X-men 1 & 2 and created some common plot thread that linked the Leader, the Abomination and the Hulk in a re-envisioned and grounded mythos...

Rogue Pictures to remake THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT - Aug 18, 2006 - 10:27pm
Well at least the movie industry executives understand the basic principles of recycling and the inherit cost effectiveness.
