Marvel by far ruled Wizard World Philly with its Secret Invasion. The Secret Invasion panel early in the day had a huge crowd. Even more people turned out for Joe Quesada and his Marvel crew. They dropped three big titles on us at the Cup ‘o Joe panel and then opened the floor for questions.
In September Kevin Walker and Fred Van Lente will launch Marvel Zombies 3. It will be an in continuity story that will deal with the Initiative and a team going to the Marvel Zombie Universe.
Stephen King’s The Stand will join The Dark Tower as another Marvel/ King comic book. It will be done by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Mike Perkins. The Stand Part One: Captain Trips will launch in September with a mid-night release.
Ed Brubaker will bring a new character to Daredevil called Lady Bullseye (see picture above). That new arc will launch in September as well.
They also revealed the cover of the sixth issue of Secret Invasion, reuniting Captain , Iron Man and the Mighty Thor.
The plethora of comic book enthusiast questions is always a treat for the die hard fan and the occasional one. More often than not they are asked by intelligent fans looking for information about characters, plot points, plot holes and missing stories that never got published. There are the occasional lame brain questions but here is what the good people of
Howard Jacobs will launch a new story arc for the Squadron Supreme in July/ August.
The last issue of Ultimate Wolverine Vs. Hulk is not ready for publication still. Joe Quesada stated that he did know how the story ends and that we will just have to wait. Sadly that became his answer for a lot of questions at the panel.
The Twelve will finish their twelve issue run and those that survive will become a regular part of the 616 Marvel Universe. The possibility exists that they will even get involved with other characters and stories but only when the book is finished.
Joe Quesada also addressed the issue on all Spider-Man fans’ minds about the Brand New Day story arc. Mary Jane and Peter did have a wedding day. Something happened that caused them to not get married. Marvel has a story in the works that will reveal exactly how much time has passed since Mephisto separated them and Peter woke up.
There were even more questions the Skrulls fueled by the Secret Invasion panel. Right off the bat they asked how the villains would play a part in the Secret Invasion. Marvel stated that the villains will be getting involved and taking sides. The Thunderbolts will be on the front line and a force to be reckoned with. Look out for Deadpool to emerge in Mighty Avengers. Plus the Skrulls might have been involved with Planet Hulk.
Frontline will return after the Skrull invasion begins. Stories will revolve around the average person and how they deal with what is going on. Man on the street, reporters and Stark tower employees were mentioned to have story lines.
The Red Hood will be back in 2009 and be featured predominantly in the Marvel Universe.
The biggest and best news revealed at the Cup ‘O Joe panel was that there now exists a Marvel Creative Committee which has a great influence at the Marvel Studio (film and TV production house). In the past the writers and editors of Marvel Comics had little creative influence on the feature film products because the films were done by other studios. This has all changed with Marvel doing their own films in house. The influence of the committee can clearly be seen on Iron Man. We were very involved and had a calculated plan set in motion, said Joe Quesada. With this committee in place film projects like Runaways have a better chance of being closer to their comic book roots.

I wonder if the Stand is going to be an adaptation of the book or something else (like a prequel or a related story). Looking forward to this as I loved the Stand.
That's a kick-ass cover for S.I.#6. I'm loving the event so far. and all the accompanying books. It has been really well done IMO. And a lot of stuff starts to make sense, with the Skrulls having a hand in exiling the Hulk.
Love, love Squadron Supreme, glad they're finally coming back since the Ultimate Power mini.
Twelve has been good too, it makes a lot of sense to use some of these guys. Glad they will.
Since I'm one of the few that has bought into BND and enjoying too, I'll be looking forward to this and have some questions answered.
I guess that means Marvel has its own Illuminati, great idea. It worked perfectly for IronMan and hopefully for the Hulk.
Good stuff, Robert.
