$420 Canadian? Only $330 US? What the hell's with the $90 difference? Don't they realize that the Canadian dollar is worth more then the american dollar now? The prices should be the same. I mean why would any canadian buy this damn thing in canada when they could buy it online (or drive across the boarder) and pick it up for even less then what the americans are getting it for (since our dollar is worth more a canadian buying it in the us would save another $15+ dollars because of the exchange rate) So I can get it for only $315 dollars if I buy it in the US or online, rather then at a local store.

What canadian in their right mind would buy this thing in canada? Studios will have to quickly catch on that the american dollar is no longer worth that much anymore and adjust the prices they charge up here in canada for the same product.

And as a side note, Best Buy/Future shop up here in Canada is selling each season of series for only $20.00 each and the movie for $10.00 so you could just buy all of those for a total of $200 and save yourself $100. of course then you wouldn't get all special features.

I was in the episode called "Triangle" as an extra about 8 or 9 years ago. I rode in an elevator to get on the Queen Mary set. Chris Carter was there in the elevator with me along with some other extras. Everyone else in the elevator stared at him and one lady said "I really like what you do." or something to that affect. Then, after an uncomfortable awkward silence, Chris responded "Uh, thanks."

I wanted to apologize to him right then and there for this extra's idiotic comment, but the doors opened. By the way, you can see my legs in a scuffle (on the show) as Mulder and Scully were crawling on the ballroom floor trying to escape the fight sequence. I'm glad I didn't step on their fingers.

True story.

Who do they think have the money to spend on these huge box sets? If you really
liked the series you would be buying it per
season as they would be released. Can you
imagine the cost of THE SIMPSONS "The Complete Series"? 800 discs at only $12,000.99! (Canadian $14.899.99)

Geez, am I the only one who thinks this complete series collection is friggin' awesome? Granted I don't have the $330 to shell out for it, but it's one kick ass set. I have seasons 1-6 of the series right now, so it's much more practical to track down the last three seasons.

I don't buy individual seasons anymore because they do this now. Have a huge box set that is easier to store and has better features.

If this is like the other series sets I've seen, I'll pass. I'd rather stick with season sets that won't scratch the discs, instead of poorly made series sets that will. Like Stargate Series Set. Looks cool on the outside, looks like a potential scratched disc disaster on the inside.

I thought this was supposed to come in a briefcase like the Blade Runner directors cut. What gives with the downgrade in packaging?
I'll wait until HMV puts it on the bargain rack to cut down on space, (anybody who waited two years to get the Lord of the Rings boxed sets got them for $60 less than I did). The price gouging that Canadians, and I myself being an American who lives here take is just insane. Books, DVDs, Music, and especially video games are just outrageously priced, and I can't believe these fine people take it so politely.
A paperback book shouldn't cost 17 bucks, and $80 for an XBOX $360 game is pretty steep. People have started revoloutions over less, and if this kind of crap were being pulled stateside I suspect riots would ensue.

Yup, we are getting ripped off here in Canada on DVDs and books. There's a thread in the Ultimate Disney forum going on about this topic over here:
http://www.ultimatedisney.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21356

This X-Files set looks great, but there's no point in getting it as I have the Mythology set, the movie, and seasons 1 to 6, and will eventually get seasons 7 to 9. Looking forward to X-Files 2 next year.

Um.. how long do you think before it comes back as hd-dvd or blu-ray?
