I don't know about this movie. The end of the series left me so frosted that it's about taken me this long to want to revisit it. I am all about second chances, just hoping I don't walk out of the theater calling the movie "X-Files: I Want to Bereave". Meh. PS What is this whole "Dark Knight" thing I am hearing about?

I watched every episode of the series and was never disappointed with the later seasons. I thought John Doggett was a great character and the closure episode on the disapperance of his son (Release) was fantastic. Reyes did not have enough time to develop but she also had a lot to offer as a character. I would have liked to see these 2 in the sequel and not go back to Mulder's tired struggle for the truth that he never seems to get. If this film was a payoff for that struggle for him then thats the movie i want to see. The evil one-armed Krycek character was great too.

I saw it at midnight, it's pretty good, one main plot with a major subplot. It delves into a topic the series surprisingly never did, and incorporates many contemporary themes from the news, and actually has some very funny moments.

well ive been a fan since 93' and love the first movie, but my one gripe is during the last episode, wasnt mulder and scully running from the FBI and isnt there suppose to be some final alien invasion in the year 2012 that mulder found out about in area 51 and the cigeratte smoking man was talking about after he got blown to hell? well i will still see this movie either way but by the looks of this trailer there steering the supernatural route. oh well i will see it anyways.

FINALLY!!! PONYBOY HAS COME BACK TO MANIAAAAA!! Hanso Brother!! TDK does own me!! Just came back from the IMAX showing here in London and it was fucking AMAZING! The only thing that truly saddens me is that Ledger isn`t around to do another one. He did such a great job. They all did. With all due respect to the reviewer I`m still going to see this. I always loved the X-Files, even the last few seasons.

Duchovny is good and so is Billy Connolly. Amanda Peet's role is so underwritten however. The rapper turned actor is a big bore and so is that subplot involving the sick child. Plus, the films seems to go on forever, even though it is shorter than The Dark Knight.

Big X-files fan, own all the seasons. TRUST NO ONE...but me. This movie would have made a below average 45min episode, but it makes for a horribly boring full length feature film. There's is just nothing redeeming about it...sad, really. I'll treat it like Aliens 3. It never happened.

Alright, I know I'm coming back to this a bit late, but I saw this Sunday night and really enjoyed it. Perhaps because reviews like this predisposed me to think it might be something terrible, which it wasn't. It *was* like watching a pretty good 2 hour X-Files episode and didn't feel as cinematic as a movie might. It was certainly better than the Series Finale, but that's not saying much. It also wasn't a "horror" movie which early word from Carter led me to believe it would be. Still, I was satisfied. It was a small little film that worked well and the writing was competent. Fox Mulder is stilly Spooky and Dana Scully continues to struggle with her faith. Good stuff all around. I wish it had done better, because despite being made for only $30 million, it seems we might never get another one. But this was a better way to go out than the craptastic series finale, that's for sure. If you dug the show, you might want to give this a chance.
