Ron Perlman as Cable!

Eldogg42 7/15/2013 6:36:32 AM

Oh wait, I figured out how they could have Cable in the movie.  Just use the "Ultimate" version of Cable which is just a future version of Wolverine!  Problem solved FOX.  You get Cable & Wolverine with the price of one actor.

I was a huge fan of the original version X-Force. I hope Fox doesn't screw this one up, but they probably will. Cable will likely have at least a cameo (or maybe a post-credits scene) in Days of Future Past to set up the X-Force film. If they go with the original lineup that is. Who knows with Fox? I'll be watching this one unfold with cautious optimism. Here's hoping it doesn't suck.

What do you mean "how do you do it without f***ing his origin?"

This is Fox. They f.uck origins all the time.

Of course, the smart way of introducing Cable would be in Days of Future Past since it's dealing with time traveling. They could even have a post credit scene in which Cable shows up in modern day.

OK we know Fox has fucked up the X-Men pretty bad. But I really think Marvel's unified universe will force Fox to up their game.

In other words I'm actually looking forward to see what they bring to the table.

I'm feeling very forgiving right now towards Fox. It's like I'm having a spiritual moment and need to let go of all the hate :)

ElBaz13 7/15/2013 8:03:24 AM

LOL! Wise.

Well, they can redeem themselves by:

1)  having a post credit sequence at the end of Wolverine to tease Days Of Future Past.

2) Splitting DoFP into two movies because of the large cast and long shoot.

3) Fix all the continuity mess and maybe even have origins retold a la Star Trek, thanks to time travel

4) DoFP lead to Cable and X-Force with zero Rob Leifeld involvment.

5) X-Force leads to Deadpool movie. The good Deadpool, not the shitty one at the end of the Wolverine movie. No Ryan Reynolds. He's box office poison (Hanso is right on that one)

6) recast Storm

wesleywells1 7/15/2013 8:06:53 AM

ElBaz13, I agree with #6. Zoe Saldana for Storm!

I agree with the rest too, but especially that one.

Wiseguy 7/15/2013 8:11:19 AM

EB I know there are  a lot of us hoping the time travel in DOFP is used as a way to resolve some continuity issues and maybe even set up the franchise in a way that is much more loyal to the source. So maybe hopefully we'll get some of those issues addressed and corrected to a more acceptable form

Eldogg42 7/15/2013 8:15:44 AM

No, no, no!!  Please, enough of the time traveling cameos.  I already hear that Bishop is in this movie.  Lets just run down the list of Characters that are in this movie but were never in the original story.

Quicksilver, This was just to beat Avengers to the punch (no other reason)

Warpath, he died in like the first storylin of the All New X-Men

Blink, What?! (what reason for her)

Sunspot (Rumored), We gonna try and set up X-Force with him?

Bishop (Rumored). Ahhhhhh, Really?! Wrong Time Travel Story!

Too bad Sony, Fox and Marvel can't find a way to make all of this work.  Give Fox exclusive use of Quick Silver and Scarlet Witch, but let Marvel have Wolverine for The Avengers.  Let's see SHIELD and Daredevil in TASM.

I agree with El Baz too; recast Storm.  Zoe Saldana isn't a bad choice.  I think Sanaa Lathan would make for a good Storm too.  Angela Bassett back in the day would have been awesome.
