A recent Twitter post by X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner confirmed that an extended cut on X-Men: Days of Future Past will arrive later this year (the Tweet is below). Then Fox’s EVP of Marketing Communications confirmed it, but confirmed a 2015 release date. So what is the Blu-ray coming out tis year going to be (October 14th)? Well just the theatrical cut.
It looks as if Fox and Marvel are taking a page from the Warner Brothers/ Peter Jackson handbook and double dipping with two releases. I don’t know about you, but I am not getting the first release of X-Men Days of Future Past. See the full details on the first Blu-ray release HERE on Mania.com.

So this isn't true then (below the original Blu-ray cover for the October 14th release)?

I never like it whe studios do this but at least they have the decency to announce there will be one, therefore you can make the choice to wait or not like the LOTR and Hobbit movies.

So wth is the extended cut gonna include? I could probably speculate and joke about it, but it's too early for this shit.

That kind of thing pisses me off. Give us everything at once.

ElBaz13 8/6/2014 10:58:25 AM

I do agree with you on that Monkeyfoot.

VioLatorr, there was like 30 minutes taken out where Rogue is busted out of Sentinel prison in the future. That was how the Sentinels were able to take mutant powers in that timeline. Also, supposedly due to the experimentation, it is rumored we see her with super strength and the ability to fly. All rumors, though.

Hey Rogue, how would you know about that extra Rogue scene.... wait..... oh ic.

Wiseguy 8/6/2014 1:52:01 PM

I like this. There are plenty of reasons pretty much all movies cut scenes, for time issues, tone or what have you. So I have no problem with that and I love the extended versions most of the time

I'm disappointed, The Wolverine 3D set included the both versions the first time around, not sure why Fox didn't follow suit with Days of Future Past.  Best Buy has a nice exclusive of the non extended edition tho for those that want to double dip.

And no Trate, that is no longer the cover for non extentended version.  If you go to Amazon you can see the new version.  The cover changed for both the 2D & 3D versions, I think the 3D version cover art looks cooler.

I'm gonna cancel my Amazon preorder, and just wait it out for the Extended version.

Wow, I think I'm going to wait also.  Sucks though, I was looking forward to seeing it again.

Hopefully it has more Quicksilver. He was a surprise smash hit.
